December 17, 2018

Womble Bond Dickinson attorney Stephanie Yarbrough is the new Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of SCBIO, South Carolina’s leading advocate for the life sciences industry.

Yarbrough was elected Vice Chair at SCBIO’s Dec. 12 Board meeting. She was appointed to the SCBIO Board in 2017.

In October, Yarbrough served as Chair of the SCBIO 2018 Annual conference, a three-day event which featured educators, industry leaders and government officials from South Carolina’s pharmaceutical and biotech sector.

SCBIO is a statewide, not-for-profit, public/private life sciences industry association and economic development organization formed to actively promote, build, support, expand, and convene South Carolina’s life sciences industry. The group is the official state affiliate of BIO—the U.S. Biotechnology Innovation Organization.

Stephanie Yarbrough has played a role in many of South Carolina’s largest economic development deals of the past 20 years. She works closely with companies seeking to expand or relocate operations to the Carolinas and the Southeastern United States. Her efforts on behalf of clients have led to the creation of thousands of new jobs and billions of dollars in new investments. When the New York Times profiled Charleston’s economic boom in 2017, Yarbrough was one of the local leaders the Times turned to for insight.
