Steve Farrar Re-Elected to One-Year Term as VP of FDCC

GREENVILLE, SC – August 27, 2008 – Smith Moore Leatherwood LLP attorney Steven A. Farrar has been re-elected to a one-year term as Vice President of the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel. In addition to his role as a member of the Board of Directors, Farrar will also serve as Convention Chair during the FDCC’s 2009 summer meeting.
Farrar has been involved in numerous leadership roles with the FDCC, which is composed of leaders in the legal community who have been judged by their peers to have achieved professional distinction, and are committed to promoting knowledge, fellowship, professionalism and justice. He recently served as Program Chair during the FDCC’s summer meeting, an annual four-day event for members and their spouses, and was a member of the Board in 2007-08.
“Serving in an expanded role for the FDCC is very fulfilling for me professionally,” says Farrar. “The FDCC allows me an opportunity to share experiences with international corporate leaders and counsel and to discuss handling challenges that our clients at Smith Moore Leatherwood also face.”
Farrar is a trial lawyer for the firm’s Greenville office. He focuses his practice on complex legal issues, including complicated business litigation, professional liability defense and major products liability issues. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia and the University of Richmond School of Law.
