Summer Camps Announced at Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County

CAMDEN, SC – The Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County (FAC) announces their summer camps and activities for both children and adults beginning in early July of 2015. Enjoy some of your favorite standbys such as dance, clay, and visual art, along with several new and exciting camps this summer. The camps will take place on the campus of the FAC located at 810 Lyttleton Street in Camden. Registration for all camps is available by callng the box office at 803-425-7676 and online at www.fineartscenter.org. MasterCard, Visa, Discover, personal checks and cash are accepted.
This summer’s offerings include:
YOUTH ART CAMPS
• Pre-school Art Camps (Ages 4 to 6;) $45 per session;
July 6 & 7 — Texas | July 8 & 9 — England; 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
• Art Camp Junior (Rising 2nd-4th grade;) $130; July 20 – 24; 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
• Art Camp Senior (Rising 4th -7th grade;) $160; July 13 – 17; 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
• Printmaking Camp (Ages 9 to 11;) $150; July 6 – 10; 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
• Forensic Art Camp (Ages 11 and up;) $100 (plus $100 supply fee;) July 27 – 31; 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
THEATRE & MUSIC CAMPS
• Let’s Pretend Theatre Camp (Rising 1st–4th grade;) $150; July 13 – 17; 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
• Oh, the Drama Theatre Camp (Rising 5th-9th grade;) $150; July 20 – 24; 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
• Funny by Friday with Frank Thompson (Rising 8th-12th grade;) $150; July 27-31; 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
• Musical Explorations with the Matthews (Rising 4th through 6th grade;) $150; July 13-17; 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
CLAY CAMPS FOR ADULTS & TEENS
• Adult & Teen Clay Camp; $150 (clay provided;) July 27-30 & August 7; 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
• Adult & Teen Evening Clay Camp; $105 (plus $25 for clay;) July 14-August 18; 6:30-8:30 p.m.
ADULT/TEEN VISUAL ART ACTIVITIES
• Painting Camp; (Ages 11 and up;) $125 (plus $50 for materials;) July 27 – 31; 1:00-4:00 p.m.
• Paper Marbling; $75 (includes materials;) Monday, August 3; 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
• Zentangle Technique & Design; $120; August 4 – 6; 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
• Oil/Pastel Workshops with Michael Story; (Adults;) $100 per day; 10:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.; July 14, 15 & 16; 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
• Brush up Paint Party with Gina Bruce; (Adults;) $35 (includes materials;) Thursday, July 30; 6:30-8:30 p.m.
DANCE CAMPS (taught by Kelley’s Fine Arts (KFA)
• KFA Princess Camp (Ages 5-10;) $40 per child; August 3 – 7; 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
• KFA Summer Dance Classes; $60 per class for 6 sessions (discounts for multiple classes;) July 6-10
1. 2:00-2:30 p.m. 2-5 yr olds (tap and ballet)
2. 2:30-3:00 p.m. 6 yrs. & older tap
3. 3:00-3:30 p.m. 6 yrs. & older ballet

• KFA Camden Crew Dance; $60 per class (discounts for multiple classes;) August 3-6

Anyone interested in joining Kelley’s Fine Arts Camden Crew, a traveling competitive dance team, are asked to audition on Friday, August 7. Auditions will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the FAC Dance Studio and will be separated by age group. For more information about Camden Crew Junior and Senior dance teams, please call Bernadene Kelley-Newman at 843-374-4532. Participants in both Camden Junior and Senior Crew teams will be expected to pay for additional items such as tights, shoes, costumes, etc.
