Sunshine City Launches Fundraiser to Support Displaced Businesses in Downtown Clinton

September 2, 2024

In a powerful display of community solidarity, Sunshine City in Clinton, SC, has unveiled a special fundraiser to aid the local businesses recently displaced by the devastating fire in downtown Clinton. Spearheaded by Ashley Martin, the owner of Sunshine City, the fundraiser features a series of limited-edition shirts emblazoned with the inspiring message: “Clinton Strong: Out of the hottest fire comes the strongest steel.” This phrase embodies the resilience and determination of the Clinton community, reflecting the strength that emerges from adversity.

“We are SOOO excited about this shirt design,” said Martin. “The quote on these shirts perfectly captures how we all feel—Clinton is a town that faces challenges head-on and comes out stronger. We’re thrilled to be part of the effort to help our community rebuild.”

All profits from the shirt sales will be donated directly to the Laurens County Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Main Street Clinton Fund, established to support the affected businesses and contribute to the recovery and revitalization of Historic Downtown Clinton. Sunshine City has set an ambitious goal of raising $3,000 through this initiative.

The fundraiser offers a variety of options, including short sleeve shirts for $20, long sleeve shirts for $25, and crewneck sweatshirts for $30. Each shirt’s background color complements the bold message, providing supporters with a tangible way to show their love for Clinton while contributing to the recovery efforts.

To participate, customers can comment on the Sunshine City page with their preferred design, shirt style, and size. Payments are accepted via cash, credit card, Venmo, PayPal, or Cashapp. Martin also plans to list the designs on the Sunshine City website, with a direct donation link for those who prefer to contribute without purchasing merchandise.

The community’s response so far has been very positive, with many expressing their gratitude for Sunshine City’s efforts. “THANK YOU so much for your support and outpouring of love!” Martin exclaimed, reflecting the shared spirit of a town united in the face of hardship.

This fundraiser is more than just a financial endeavor—it’s a testament to the unbreakable spirit of Clinton, where the heat of adversity only strengthens the resolve to rebuild and thrive.
