Synterra Announces New Hires

GREENVILLE, SC – SynTerra welcomes Justin “Judd” Mahan as a Senior Geologist. Judd holds BS degree in Geology from Auburn.

Justin “Judd” Mahan’s professional consulting experiences have involved environmental geology, assessment, remediation, and construction-related activities. He has managed and led assessment and remediation projects for hazardous waste-impacted industrial facilities, petroleum distribution facilities, pipeline operations, and retail gasoline sites. Mr. Mahan also has experience in regulatory negotiations for traditional cleanup solutions, innovative remediation activities, and risk-based remediation solutions

 

Samantha Wilkinson has been hired as a Project Administrator.

Sam specializes in project administration as well as project accounting.

 

Kelly St.Cyr joins SynTerra as a Designer/Drafter. Kelly holds a degree in Computer Aided Design and a certificate in GIS.

Kelly specializes in both Mechanical and Civil Engineering Design.

 

Alexandra Lefitz joins SynTerra as a Hydrogeologist.  Alex holds a BS degree in Geology and a minor in Environmental Engineering from Clemson University.

Her experience includes Fractured Bedrock Geology, Field Sampling, Field Logistics

 

Erin Black joins SynTerra as a Hydrogeologist.  Erin holds a BS degree in Geology from Clemson University and will attain her MS degree in Hydrogeology from Clemson University December, 2016.

Her experience includes fractured bedrock geology and actinide geochemical interactions as well as bring a Graduate Student Mentor / Project Manager for Clemson University’s Chapter of Engineers Without Borders.

 

Mike Spacil joins SynTerra as a Senior Scientist.  Mike holds a BS degree in Aquaculture, Fisheries, & Wildlife Biology and a MS degree in Environmental Toxicology from Clemson University.

His experience includes work driven by the Clean Water Act, NPDES, NEPA, CERCLA, and NRDA. Michael has specialization in biological treatment of industrial wastewaters (e.g. refineries, power plants) and impacted runoff water (e.g. storm water, acid mine drainage), aquatic ecology, and environmental chemistry.

 

Kyle Donovan joins SynTerra as a Technician II.  Kyle holds a BS degree in Earth and Environmental Science from Furman University.

His experience includes primarily non-profit work with ground and surface water, and my senior thesis was on the human appropriation of net primary productivity.

 

Jess Gilmer  joins SynTerra as a Associate Scientist.  JJ holds a BS degree and an MS in Environmental Science from Columbus State University (Columbus, GA). My experience includes geologic mapping of metamorphic terranes; groundwater and surface water hydrology and chemistry; rapid bioassessment of stream ecosystems; macroinvertebrate identification, statistical analysis and experimental design; and ArcGIS.
