Tasting Notes raises record $50,000

April 17, 2017

The South Carolina Philharmonic had its most successful fundraising event ever March 27, 2017 when the fifth annual Tasting Notes at the S.C. State Museum raised a net of more than $50,000.

Tasting Notes also broke an attendance record, completely selling out and even surpassing its attendance limit of 500. The S.C. Phil limits attendance to avoid congestion during the wine and food tastings.

Ameris Bank and Foreign Cars Italia of Charlotte were the Tasting Notes 2017 grand sponsors. The S.C. Phil would also like to thank its generous restaurant partners from around Richland and Lexington counties: 116 Espresso & Wine Bar, Alodia’s Cucina Italiana, Blue Marlin Steaks & Seafood, Bourbon Columbia, Gervais & Vine, Grill Marks, Kaminsky’s Dessert Café, Main Street Public House, M Vista, M Grille, M Kitchen, Motor Supply Co. Bistro, Pearlz Oyster Bar, Ristorante Divino, Tallulah, The Melting Pot, The Oak Table, The Wired Goat, Thirsty Fellow Pizzeria & Pub, Travinia Italian Kitchen NE, and Twisted Spur. Additionally, Cabot Creamery furnished an expansive cheese board station.

The sixth annual Tasting Notes is expected to take place Monday, March 26, 2018. An event venue and additional details will be announced by early 2018.

About the S.C. Philharmonic

The South Carolina Philharmonic entertains, educates, enriches, and excites diverse audiences through live symphonic music. As the Midlands’ only professional orchestra, the S.C. Phil is a non-profit, 501c3 that has served the community’s needs for cultural development, education, and entertainment since 1964. The S.C. Phil believes exposure to the arts is an essential element that helps people realize their full potential, connect to others in the community, and be introduced to new cultural experiences. The S.C.
