Technology Veterans Join Good Done Great’s Senior Leadership

November 7, 2014

CHARLESTON, SC  – Good Done Great, a technology company specializing in maximizing corporate social responsibility impact for Fortune 500 companies and other businesses, is pleased to announce that industry experts Paul McElhinney and Rebecca Guthrie have joined Good Done Great’s senior leadership team. Paul McElhinney comes on board as VP of Product and Engineering, bringing 25 years of experience with Blackbaud, including serving as Blackbaud’s former VP of Engineering, and Guthrie, who worked with Benefitfocus and BoomTown, is Vice President of Technology Services.

“These two professionals are highly respected in the technology sector, and we’re very excited to have as part of our team. Finding talent in this industry is competitive and challenging, and these significant hires further strengthens our current momentum as Good Done Great scales up to the next level,” says company president Earl Bridges.

During his long tenure with Blackbaud, McElhinney served in numerous roles, most recently as VP of Engineering, in charge of the Platform, Shared Services and Operations teams. He was responsible for the engineering and quality assurance of Blackbaud’s most critical teams, including the platform team’s SaaS platform that powers the software company’s new offerings along with their payment and email services. As Director of Software Development, McElhinney was responsible for the development of most of Blackbaud’s core products, including accounting and financial platforms.

McElhinney, a computer science graduate of the State University of New York-Potsdam, left Blackbaud in 2011 and has worked and consulted in the interim on various startups. “Like Blackbaud, Good Done Great is a leader in the philanthropy software market, though with a different focus. I’m thrilled to join such a solid organization during this exciting period of growth. I look forward to helping build out our engineering team, creating the right engineering processes, and building a customer focused development process so we can scale with our continuing growth. These are fun problems to solve,” says McElhinney.

Guthrie was most recently consulting in the technology space with Sweet Spot Operations. She has a history of and passion for working in accelerated growth companies, including her role as Director of Operations at BoomTown during the software company’s fastest growth period. At BoomTown she was responsible for the implementation, management, supervision and evaluation of all operational activities. With Benefitfocus, she served as Implementation Consultant and Project Manager, configuring software implementation for the company’s largest client. Guthrie, a College of Charleston graduate in international business, will focus on streamlining the company’s Technical Services, in addition to strategic efforts. “I’m looking forward to helping set a foundation for the company culture,” Guthrie says. “The world of corporate social responsibility is a dynamic field right now, and Good Done Great is truly innovative in this space. I’m excited to help our team grow and help our clients during software implementation.”

The expansion of Good Done Great’s senior leadership team comes on the heels the company’s first infusion of outside capital, a $500,000 deal with Lighter Capital of Seattle, which will help Good Done Great scale its operations to support a larger volume of corporate giving and employee engagement initiatives. The co-founders are also in the midst of raising funds through the company’s first angel round, with a goal of securing more than $3 million.

Good Done Great has a proven track record of helping multi-national and global organizations, including Gulfstream, TEDCO, Marriott, Staples and PricewaterhouseCoopers, streamline processes to increase philanthropy and employee engagement. This has led to a surge in larger contracts and accelerated business growth.

“As our client base and the universe of CSR programs continues to expand, and now as our team and expertise expands, we are poised to scale our operation to meet the added demand,” adds Earl Bridges.
