The Abernathy celebrates grand opening in Clemson

Clemson’s newest boutique hotel, The Abernathy, celebrated its Grand Opening event on Tuesday, August 15th. The event featured entertainment from the Clemson Cheerleaders and the Clemson Tiger, while guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and cocktails. The hotel welcomed influencers from the community including Clemson’s Mayor, J.C. Cook, and Clemson Head Football Coach, Dabo Swinney, who has endorsed the hotel. Swinney spoke on The Abernathy’s true Clemson spirit and his connection to the property at the event. “This place is special. Genuinely welcoming. A true sense of belonging,” said Dabo Swinney.
Named after Clemson’s late, long-time mayor, Larry Abernathy, The Abernathy aims to embody not only the community, but also the spirit of the town, which values southern charm and hospitality. The Abernathy credits the late mayor as inspiration to reflect the best of Clemson’s past, present and future.
