The Brandon Agency expands Public Relations and Social Media department, adding five new team members

With an increase in new business over the last several months, The Brandon Agency, one of the largest independently owned advertising agencies in the Carolinas, has added five new positions to its Public Relations and Social Media team.

Ed Lammon, Content and Copy Manager

Ed Lammon joins the team as a content and copy manager, responsible for creating, developing and approving content. He will provide support for all of the agency’s clients, collaborating with team members to create and deliver exceptional written content. The focus of this position includes ensuring that the agency exceeds client expectations in the delivery of content across online and print media.

Joining the agency from True North Custom Media as a hybrid marketer/editor and social media coordinator, Lammon’s tenured experience as a managing editor brings a high level of expertise and a wide range of skills to the agency. In his previous roles, he expanded the publishing program at True North and focused on increasing delivery for the company’s Facebook page. Additionally, he worked as city editor at Opelika-Auburn News and as an editor at Faircount Publishing.

Lammon holds a Bachelor of Arts in journalism from Auburn University.

 

Erin Adkins, Public Relations and Social Media Executive

In her new role, Erin Adkins will provide support for agency public relations and social media, as well as client support including sister-agency Fuel, The Normal Brand, Farmer’s Telephone Company, The Martin Group and more.

Adkins has a background in marketing and communications, previously working as a marketing director/development director at the YMCA of Kanawha Valley. During her time there, she managed the marketing communication team, developing and executing strategic marketing plans for the company. Additionally, she worked as an account executive for Fahlgren Mortine, media relations manager for Hinson Ltd. Public Relations and contemporary marketing representative for Columbus Distributing Company.

Adkins holds a Bachelor of Arts in communication with a minor in journalism from Coastal Carolina University.

 

Margaret Hoynes, Public Relations and Social Media Executive

Margaret Hoynes joins the agency in a role providing support for keynote clients including Santee Cooper, Brittain Resorts and Hotels, and The Normal Brand. The emphasis of this position is social media strategy and public relations efforts.

Prior to joining the agency, Hoynes worked as an advertising and marketing coordinator for Garden City Realty, where she handled advertising and marketing for 12 real estate agents and promoted the vacation rentals department. Other past positions include account management for The Carolina Opry, marketing and promotions for New Brookland Tavern and entertainment chair for Relay For Life.

Hoynes holds a Bachelor of Arts in public relations from the University of South Carolina.

 

Alicia Broughton, Public Relations and Social Media Associate

Alicia Broughton joins the team after completing an internship with the agency. In her new role, she will support the manager and executive on the team to provide clients with social media implementation and strategy, as well as public relations support.

Broughton holds a Bachelor of Arts in communication studies with an emphasis on public relations and a humanities cluster minor in sociology, psychology and philosophy from Clemson University.

 

George Douglas, Public Relations and Social Media Associate

In his new role, George Douglas will provide support for the agency’s outdoor-focused clients, concentrating on executing social media strategy and public relations support.

In his previous position, Douglas assisted in marketing, sales and customer service for Scout Boats in Summerville, S.C. He adds a deep understanding of the outdoor and marine industry and provides an authentic voice for outdoor clients in their respective social media channels.

Douglas holds a Bachelor of Science degree in natural resources management and policy from Clemson University.
