The Charleston Area Convention & Visitors Bureau announces new leadership

August 8, 2017

CHARLESTON, SC – The Charleston Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (CACVB) has appointed new leadership in Industry Workforce & Programs Director Jill Maynard and Director of Education & Training Suzanne Wallace. Both Maynard and Wallace have extensive experience working in Charleston’s hospitality industry and look forward to leading the CACVB’s efforts, in conjunction with the Greater Charleston Restaurant Association (GCRA) and Charleston Area Hospitality Association, to develop and retain both new and existing hospitality industry employees.

Maynard’s career in the hospitality industry began as a server in Atlanta at Bacchanalia restaurant, where she quickly developed a deep passion for food, beverage and the art of fine dining. In 1997, Maynard started climbing the ranks at a collection of Hall Management Group’s restaurants, including serving as General Manager of Slightly North of Broad and most recently General Manager of High Cotton.

A 30-year hospitality industry veteran and current Executive Director of the Charleston Area Hospitality Association, Wallace’s new role as CACVB Director of Education & Training is a truly natural fit. An Adjunct Instructor at the Culinary Institute of Charleston, Wallace also currently sits on the Board of the GCRA and the Charleston Wine + Food Festival (CHSWFF), and is a member of Les Dames d’Escoffier International.
