The Comet will provide service from Allen University to Irmo High School for football games

The COMET has partnered with Allen University to provide Route 1870 to take football falls from the Allen University campus at the corner of Taylor and Oak Streets in Columbia to Irmo High School off St. Andrews Road and Avery Lane. The service will operate on the following days:
- Saturday, September 1 @ 3 p.m.
- Saturday, September 8 @ 3 p.m.
- Saturday, September 22 @ 3 p.m.
- Saturday, November 10 @ 1:30 p.m.
The schedule for 3:00pm games is:

Passengers can catch The COMET Route 1870 at any bus stop between Taylor @Oak and St. Andrews at Avery Lane at Routes 83L, 84 and 701 bus stops.
Customers can purchase the $3.00 All-day pass on the bus or download the CatchTheCOMET app to purchase. The hours of operations begins 1.5 hours before kick-off and stops 1 hour following the end of the game.

The COMET is a service of the Central Midlands Regional Transit Authority and provides countywide public transit services on 35 fixed routes, two ReFlex services and DART ADA complementary paratransit service throughout Richland and western Lexington Counties. The COMET transports approximately 2.8 million passenger trips a year on a fleet of 81 buses and vans. Transit services are provided under contract with Transdev Service, Inc of Lombard, Illinois.
