January 10, 2018

Make-A-Wish® South Carolina is honored to be the chosen recipient of a major gift from The Harvey Hubbell Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Greenville-based Hubbell Lighting and Columbia-based Hubbell Power Systems.

On Tuesday, January 9, Garth Warner, Hubbell Lighting’s VP, Human Resources and Kevin Potts, VP, Finance at Hubbell Power Systems, visited Make-A-Wish® South Carolina in Greenville to present the generous gift.

Kevin Potts, who also serves as a board member and volunteer wish granter for Make-A-Wish South Carolina stated, “Hubbell, an American manufacturer with locations in Greenville, Columbia, and Aiken, is proud to support the mission of Make-A-Wish South Carolina. Over our storied 130-year history we have supported many of the best charities impacting the communities in which we work, and Make-A-Wish is certainly on that list. The magic of Make-A-Wish is though they are granting the wish of a single deserving child, they are impacting so many more.

From the bolstered confidence of family and friends to the heartwarming accomplishment felt by the community of volunteers and Wish granters. Hundreds of times a year Make-A-Wish South Carolina delivers on a prescription of hope, joy and inspiration for the children, families and communities they serve. Hubbell is honored to be able to be a part of that team.”

With this donation, Make-A-Wish® South Carolina will be able to grant approximately three and half additional wishes to children in the state battling critical illnesses to restore hope and energy to their lives.

“We are delighted to have Hubbell as partners in granting wishes to courageous wish kids,” remarked Bill Tiller, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish South Carolina. “Hubbell’s generous charitable investment will provide hope and healing for many children facing critical illnesses. Their corporate impact will transform lives through the hope, strength and joy created by wishes come true.”
