Thomas Creek and the Greenville Scottish Games team up for new beer
May 11, 2015GREENVILLE, SC – Thomas Creek Brewery in conjunction with the Greenville Scottish Games is brewing something new.
Gallabrae Scottish Ale.
Not only is it “fearlessly brewed” the Scottish way – “it is the official beer of the Greenville Scottish Games,” said Jay Spivey, the marketing director for the games. This fine ale will be distributed byGreenco Beverage in Greenville and will be released to the public on May 13.
“This is the first time a true Scottish Ale is being brewed to support a Scottish Games in our region and we are thrilled” said Spivey
Gallabrae Scottish Ale is a bright umber true Scottish Ale based on a 60 shilling recipe. Sticking with old world traditions, Gallabrae utilizes the aromas and flavors of peated malt to round out lightly toasted caramel, while earthy notes from Noble English hops provide a balanced finish.
There will be a tasting of Gallabrae Scottish Ale at Thomas Creek Brewery on Tuesday, May 12 from5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The Greenville Scottish Games are Saturday, May 23 at Furman University. The Gallabrae Scottish Ale will be available at the Games.
“The Gallabrae Scottish Ale is another way we are showing Greenville’s appreciation for the Scottish culture,” Spivey said.
