Toyota of Greer gives $20,000 to March of Dimes

February 4, 2016

For the fourth year in a row, Toyota of Greer has reached out to help the March of Dimes campaign in the Upstate with a generous donation of $20,000.

The donation was announced at the annual kickoff luncheon Wednesday, but that is the not limit to Toyota of Greer’s donation, said Mark C. Escude, the platform director at Toyota of Greer. The Toyota of Greer team will take part in the annual March for Babies at Greenville Technical College’s main campus on April 30 as well as help lead a rally two weeks prior to the event.

The auto dealership’s donation comes from a very personal spot, Escude said. One of his nephews spent 36 days in a NICU after being diagnosed with laryngomalacia, paralysis of the right hemidiaphragm at birth.

Seeing the care he received and realizing the need for other children in the Upstate, led deeply to Toyota of Greer becoming heavily involved in the campaign, Escude said.

“My family has seen firsthand what the March of Dimes does to help children,” Escude said. “We want to help them to keep helping others.”
