Two Lowcountry Healthcare Centers Added to AHCA National Quality Award Program
July 20, 2012NORCROSS, GA – July 20, 2012 – UHS-Pruitt Corporation announced today that six of its healthcare centers were recently honored with American Health Care Association (AHCA) National Quality Awards. Each year, the AHCA sponsors the award program to provide a pathway for long term care providers to obtain performance excellence. Healthcare centers are judged by trained examiners who identify opportunities for improvement to support continuous learning. This federal program is based on the core values of the Malcolm Baldrige Performance Excellence Program and has three progressive steps of distinction: Bronze, Silver and Gold.
This year Bronze badges of quality went to 403 out of more than 16,000 nursing home facilities throughout the United States, and 52 locations were awarded with the Silver honor. Five healthcare centers from the UHS-Pruitt family of providers were named to the Bronze level this term, bringing the total number of Bronze recipients in the organization to 54. One UHS-Pruitt center was also awarded a silver badge, bringing the total number of UHS-Pruitt centers at that step to four.
