United Way of the Piedmont wins InnoVision award for COVID-19 response

November 24, 2020

United Way of the Piedmont is proud to be the recipient of the InnoVision COVID-19 Community Service Award for its COVID-19 response. InnoVision is a statewide awards organization recognizing innovation across sectors in South Carolina.

The InnoVision COVID-19 Community Service Award recognizes innovative responses to challenges heightened during the pandemic. United Way launched its United for All COVID-19 Relief Fund shortly after the onset of the pandemic. By launching the United for All Fund and reimagining its available resources to strengthen support for the fund, United Way rolled out a quick response to increased community needs.

The United for All Fund has helped families maintain stability through challenges such as employment loss, decreased work hours, and more. To date, United Way has distributed over $450,000 in financial assistance to 544 families across Spartanburg, Cherokee, and Union Counties.

“We are honored to receive this award,” said President and CEO of United Way of the Piedmont, Paige Stephenson. “Our team has worked hard to respond quickly and efficiently to COVID-19 and meet community needs. While we focus on long-term solutions for the community through our work every day, we are proud to step up as a leader when crises arise.”
