The outpouring of support from friends and strangers in response to the flooding this week has been tremendous. Our community has truly come together in the midst of tragedy and has stepped up to give our time, talent and treasure in abundance. It is humbling to see how our community has banded together to help those in need and has lived up to our new reputation of being “Famously Strong.” However, the road has just begun. Clean up and rebuilding will take time, but we are resilient.

In response to the flooding, Central Carolina Community Foundation has established a national SC Flood Relief Fund to address the pressing needs of flood victims- both short and long term. 100% of monies donated will go directly to local organizations aiding those in need throughout the eleven counties we serve. The Foundation’s board has provided initial funding of $50,000 and additional donations have been received from across the county. Harvest Hope Food Bank, a nonprofit food pantry that offers direct support to individuals via more than 400 member partners in 20 counties statewide, is the recipient of the first grant from this fund.

The Foundation recognizes that our community will need help for many months and, perhaps, years. We’re committed to helping flood relief efforts for as long as needed and every donation we receive will help our community recover and rebuild. If you would like to make a donation to the fund, visit yourfoundation.org/SCFloodRelief.

Cheers with gratitude,
