WorkWell and WorkLife cover the “news” of the workplace

Two new websites – WorkWell and  WorkLife – from employee  benefit leaders Unum and Colonial Life help consumers make the most of their work life.

With stories about workplace issues, career development, benefits packages and healthy living tips, Unum and Colonial Life will share their knowledge to support consumers as they navigate the ins and outs of their time on – and off – the clock.

“We spend a third of our time working, so it’s important to know how best to juggle our world at work with our commitments at home,” said Jim Sabourin, senior vice president of Corporate Communications at Unum. “WorkWell and WorkLife provide content that supports the search for career success, work-life balance, financial stability and overall health and well-being.”

The sites help keep consumers engaged and informed about workplace issues, especially when it comes to their benefits. Unum and Colonial Life recognize the strong need for education around benefits and insurance in general. According to LIMRA, the average U.S. consumer can only answer 3 out of 10 questions correctly in a survey on disability.

Consumers will also have a chance to get to know both companies better through stories about their community partnerships, social responsibility initiatives and public policy efforts.

Visitors to the sites are encouraged to share the stories that resonate with them through social sharing buttons that are front and center on the sites and in the stories themselves.

“We’re excited about the opportunity to engage with consumers through topics they are interested in, while at the same time helping to increase their knowledge of their workplace benefits,” adds Sabourin.
