Volunteers are a Big Piece of the Puzzle
June 5, 2014ANDERSON, SC – Do you like history? Do you like to volunteer? The Anderson County Museum is currently looking for Volunteers for our front desk. Volunteers’ at the ACM are a big piece of the puzzle and essential to opening the museum doors every day.
The ACM only requires one shift at three hours a month. The shifts are Tuesday – Saturday. There is a morning shift 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.and an afternoon shift 1 to 4 p.m. On Tuesday there is an evening shift 4 to 7 p.m.

Saturday, June 7. 1 to 3 p.m. – Pride of the Piedmont Exhibit and Reception: The Anderson Council of Garden Clubs will celebrate National Garden Week with an exhibit at the ACM. “Pride of the Piedmont” will open with a reception on Saturday, June 7 from 1 to 3 p.m. The exhibit will be on display through the month of June in the ACM temporary gallery. The reception is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.
Tuesday, June 5, 5: 30 p.m. – How to Display the Flag of the United States: If you want to learn more about how to display the United States Flag this program is for YOU! Did you know that on Memorial Day the flag should be displayed at half-staff until noon only and then raised to the top of the staff? There are certain ways to display the flag over the middle of the street or over a sidewalk. Flag expert and retired U. S. Marine Steve Graham will present different ways to correctly display the flag. Bring your whole family onTuesday, June 10 at 5:30 p.m. for an informative program on OUR United States Flag. This program is FREE and open to the public.
ACM Preschoolers: 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month at 10:30 a.m. Ages 2-5 with caregiver.
American Girl Club every 3rd Saturday of the month at 11 a.m.
Curator’s Corner: 4th Saturday of each month at 10:30 a.m.
The Anderson County Museum is at 202 East Greenville Street, in downtown Anderson. The Fred Whitten Gallery and Museum Store hours are Tuesday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Wednesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Reading and Research Room is open 1 to 4 p.m. on Thursdays and by appointment.
