April 30, 2014

COLUMBIA,  SC – April 30, 2014 – Voterheads, a Columbia-based company, announced today that it is launching its social media platform and alert services for the Charlotte market.  After a successful pilot launched in July of last year in Columbia, SC, Voterheads went live with its services on April 28, providing users with information and the ability to vote and comment on local public meeting agenda items in the Charlotte area. The company provides one simple web platform for citizens to communicate easily with their elected officials and keep up with local government and school board issues that interest them.  The following organizations will be monitored:

  • City of Charlotte
  • Mecklenburg County
  • Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools

Karl McCollester, CEO of Voterheads, says, “We are making democracy more user-friendly at every level, but in particular, at the local level where people can find information on what’s happening at local council meetings, school board meetings, and much more. With today’s technology, being an empowered citizen is overdue, and Voterheads is committed to making this possible.  We have had tremendous success in the Columbia area and have decided to expand into the Charlotte community.”
