Womble Carlyle SC Political Law Team Successfully Defends Gov. Nikki Haley in Ethics Investigation

COLUMBIA, SC – Womble Carlyle attorneys Butch Bowers, Kevin Hall andTodd Carroll have helped clear South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley in astate ethics probe.
On June 29th, the State House Ethics Committee announced it wasdismissing allegations against the Governor related to her activitieswhile employed as a fundraiser for the Lexington Medical CenterFoundation and a consultant for the engineering firm of Wilbur SmithAssociates. The Committee ruled that Gov. Haley did not use herpolitical office as a State Legislator for personal gain. WombleCarlyle’s South Carolina Political Law Team of Bowers, Hall and Carrollrepresented the Governor in the proceedings.
The ethics complaint was filed by political activist John Rainey, who has been a long-time critic of the Governor.
Bowers, Hall and Carroll have represented several other South Carolinaelected officials in ethics investigations, including former GovernorMark Sanford, who they successfully defended in impeachment proceedings.
