YEScarolina announces new scholarship and application deadline for youth entrepreneurs

February 20, 2018
YEScarolina announced new scholarship opportunities for youth entrepreneurs in South Carolina. The newly endowed Bill Hall Culinary Entrepreneurship Scholarship and the inaugural Baker Motors Scholarship in honor of Tommy Baker of Baker Motors are available to high school seniors who have completed YEScarolina’s entrepreneurship curriculum.

The Bill Hall Culinary Entrepreneurship Scholarship was created in 2015 by YEScarolina’s board of directors to honor Emeritus Board Member and proprietor of Hall’s Chophouse, Bill Hall. This scholarship awards $2,500 to a YEScarolina alumnus interested in the hospitality and tourism/culinary profession, to help the student attend The Culinary Institute of Charleston at Trident Technical College.

The Baker Motors Scholarship will be awarded for the first time over the next year. This $2,500 scholarship helps a student with interests in automotive technology and engineering to attend Trident Technical College. In addition to being a longtime supporter of youth entrepreneurship in the Lowcountry, Tommy Baker is also an Emeritus founding member of YEScarolina.

Along with the Bill Hall Culinary Entrepreneurship Scholarship and the Baker Motors Scholarship, YEScarolina also awards The Kathy Elsner Spirit Scholarship Award and The Jimmy Bailey Scholarship annually.
The application deadline for this year’s scholarships is Friday, April 20, 2018. Learn more at yescarolina.com/for-students/scholarships/
