United Community to open newly renovated West Main Street branch mid-July

July 2, 2024

This summer, United Community is reopening its West Main Street branch after undergoing extensive renovations as part of its commitment to investing in the Laurens community. The new branch offers a modern environment and expanded services to better serve the community and its growing customer base. The branch will reopen on July 15.

“We are dedicated to providing our Laurens customers with the best possible banking experience,” said Candi Wilson, regional banking manager. “These renovations reflect our commitment to the community and ensure we can continue to deliver exceptional service for many years to come.”

At the West Main Street branch, customers can expect a welcoming and technologically advanced space designed to meet their evolving banking needs and enhanced traffic flow. The newly renovated branch will feature an Interactive Teller Machine (ITM) available during extended hours. This innovative technology allows for video conferencing with a live teller for transactions like deposits, check cashing, loan payments and more.

As an additional step in its plan to improve service in Laurens, United will be consolidating its Church Street branch with the newly renovated West Main Street branch in September. This strategic move brings United’s bankers to the newly renovated branch, fostering greater collaboration and providing a seamless banking experience for customers.

“We are excited to join our teams together and bring our bankers under one roof to serve our customers. Our employees, our customers, and our neighbors call Laurens home. United is proud to be part of the landscape of our wonderful town and we’re pleased to continue offering the same service our customers have come to know and love,” Wilson said.

In addition to investing in the updated, state-of-the-art branch, United is also committed to giving back to reflect its purpose of building communities. Since 2021, the United Community Bank Foundation has donated more than $10,000 to Laurens area organizations and non-profits. The bank has also partnered with Laurens County schools to provide financial literacy education. Additionally, United employees participate in days of service with local nonprofits.

In the last year alone, the United Community Bank Foundation has awarded more than half a million dollars in grants supporting some 230 organizations across six states.
