4th Annual Creative Taste of Spartanburg Moves to June 11

April 27, 2011

SPARTANBURG, SC – April 27, 2011 – Previously held in September, the City of Spartanburg’s annual Creative Taste of Spartanburg event is moving to June 11 for this year’s event.

Mandy Merck, City of Spartanburg’s Special Events Manager states, For the past three years, Creative Taste competed with other events in the area and college football games. We decided it made sense to look at another time of year for the event. After checking all the community calendars, we discovered that there are no other festivals or events anywhere in Spartanburg county during the month of June.   It made perfect sense to us to go with a June date – it will now be held the second Saturday in June.

Scheduled for Saturday, June 11, from 5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m., there will be a Restaurant Row featuring local restaurants and chefs; a Made in Spartanburg area highlighting local cookbooks, vendors, local produce and locally-made food; a Cook’s Corner featuring food, beverages and gadgets for sale.  And of course, don’t forget the Lemonade Stand – which includes tons of activities for children from the easy bake oven cook off, green eggs and ham, decorating cookies, chef hats and aprons, sidewalk art contest and more!

Tons of local entertainment will be enjoyed throughout the event.  Creative Taste will take place in Downtown Spartanburg west of Morgan Square and the Clock Tower on Ezell, King and West Main Streets and Daniel Morgan Avenue.
