Generations Group Homes’ Pathways PRTF Program Receives National Accreditation

November 19, 2012

GREENVILLE, SC – November 19, 2012 – Generations Group Homes has achieved national accreditation for its Pathways Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (Pathways PRTF) program through the New York-based Council on Accreditation (COA). Receiving this type of highly renowned recognition demonstrates the nonprofit’s continued success in implementing best practice standards within the field of human services.
As Generations’ most recently added program, Pathways PRTF is designed to treat at-risk boys who struggle with sexual behavior problems and have a direct need for psychiatric services. Individualized treatment plans, a therapeutic environment and strong educational component provide treatments designed to restore boys back to a healthy lifestyle. In order to provide a multi-disciplinary approach focused on the “whole child”, the Pathways’ leadership team is comprised of a board certified child and adolescent psychiatrist, a licensed master’s level clinician and direct care workers.

In its entirety, the COA accreditation process involves a detailed review and analysis of an organization’s administration, management, and service delivery functions against international standards of best practice. Achieving accreditation demonstrates an organization’s accountability in management of resources, sets standardized best practice thresholds for service and administration, and increases capacity and accountability by creating a framework for ongoing quality improvement.

“Undoubtedly, the Pathways PRTF program has propelled our organization’s services to a new level,” noted Kathleen Reynolds, Founder and CEO of Generations.  “Reflected through our specialized facilities and dedicated staff, Generations is now able to provide a full-circle rehabilitation plan for every resident who comes through our doors—including those with more complex and elevated treatment needs.”

In addition to the Pathways PRTF Program, Generations also offers a Group Homes Program comprised of its Bridges and Horizons campuses. Receiving COA accreditation for the first time in 2001 and every four years since, these facilities provide specialized services and opportunities focused on behavior management and skill-building for at-risk boys. To date, Generations has served over 800 boys with a 98% success rate of them never being incarcerated for the same offense again.
