Local Architect Selected to Lead Young Architects
January 7, 2012GREENVILLE, SC – January 9, 2012 – Brad Benjamin, AIA, has been selected to serve as the 2013 Chair of the international AIA Young Architects Forum.
The Young Architects Forum (YAF), a program of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), is the voice of architects in the early stages of their career and the catalyst for change within the architecture profession. The YAF was organized by the AIA in 1991 to drive professional growth and leadership development among Young Architects through interaction and collaboration between the architecture profession and society. As Chair, Mr. Benjamin will represent the more than 25,000 architects in the United States and abroad that are licensed 10 years and less to the membership of the AIA and the profession as a whole.
A graduate Leadership Greenville Class 37, Mr. Benjamin is the founder of Radium Architecture, Inc., an architecture firm providing diverse projects in architecture, planning, and interior environments to a wide range of clients.
Mr. Benjamin has served on many local boards and committees including the Greenville Chamber’s Leadership Greenville Board of Regents, the Young Philanthropists Council of the United Way, Pecha Kucha Night Greenville, and Architecture for Humanity. Mr. Benjamin has served previously as the President of the Greenville section of AIA and has been a past honoree of Greenville Magazine’s “Best and Brightest 35 and Under” award.
Mr. Benjamin received his Bachelor of Science in Design, his Bachelor of Science in Construction Science, and his Master of Architecture all from Clemson University. With over fifteen years of experience in the architecture profession, he has been a design and project team member for a wide variety of notable Greenville projects.
