Goodwyn, Mills and Cawood Selected for East Lincoln Community Park Nature Trail Master Plan and Community Center Addition

October 24, 2011

GREENVILLE, SC – October 24, 2011 – Goodwyn, Mills and Cawood, Inc. announced that the firm has been selected to create a master plan for East Lincoln Community Park’s Nature Trail as well as an addition to the adjacent East Lincoln Community Center located in Lincoln, North Carolina.  These plans will allow Lincoln County Parks & Recreation to more effectively coordinate its fundraising, projects, programs and activities.

The design of the trail, which is a natural progression of Lincoln County’s portion of the Carolina Thread Trail, includes trail entrance, foot bridges at wet areas, new planting, strategically placed benches, covered bulletin boards and outdoor classroom areas.

Adjacent to East Lincoln Park is the Community Center which features a gymnasium and community room.  Goodwyn, Mills and Cawood plans to expand the community room and position it to connect to the kitchen area though a roll-up window. The split-level expansion will create a lower level to house new restrooms and concession area for outdoor events and activities. Storage and maintenance areas for the Lincoln County Parks and Recreation facilities department will also be created.
