American Advertising Federation Announces New Professionals Scholarship

COLUMBIA, SC – The American Advertising Federation of the Midlands (AAF Midlands) is offering a new scholarship, the New Professionals Scholarship, for young alumni and 2015 graduates.  This scholarship opportunity is open to college seniors graduating in 2015 with a major in advertising, public relations, marketing or visual communications. Alumni who have graduated within the past year and are still seeking employment in one of these communications fields are also eligible.  The deadline for applications is May 8, 2015.

AAF Midlands will select a scholarship winner to receive a free one-year membership to the organization from fall 2015 to spring 2016. AAF Midlands will make the selection in early May 2015, and announce the recipient at the May luncheon. As an AAF Midlands member, the scholarship winner will have the opportunity to build his or her professional network and industry knowledge. Membership includes:

●     Free admission to monthly luncheons featuring top-notch industry speakers and after-hours networking events

●     Access to industry professionals

●     Opportunities to expand  abilities and present to prospective employers

●     Discounted American Advertising Award entry fees for freelance work and discounted American Advertising Award ticket to the thematic awards gala in February 2016

Scholarship applicants should have a minimum 3.0 GPA. They also must be seeking a job in the Columbia-Metro area and must have the ability to attend monthly luncheons.
