City Center Partnership’s Retail Recruiter Lands Gift Boutique in Downtown Columbia
October 1, 2008COLUMBIA, SC – October 1, 2008 – City Center Partnership is pleased to announce that Amy Stone, Vice President of Retail Recruitment, has landed Uptown, a new gift boutique for downtown Columbia. Opening in mid-October, it will offer personalized gifts for all occasions along with monogrammed accessories, greeting cards, stationery, home décor and much more. Prior to opening Uptown, owner Martha Studstill, was a regular vendor at City Center Partnership’s outdoor Main Street Marketplace. Uptown is located at 1204 Main Street.
Amy’s efforts in recruiting Uptown are a direct result of the retail recruitment plan that was introduced to Columbia earlier this year by ERA/Downtown Works of Washington, D.C. The plan was created to recruit the right mix of retail to Columbia’s City Center.
“I am thrilled about the arrival of the new gift boutique in downtown,” said Amy. “I want downtown Columbia to be a place people shop to find something unique they can’t find anywhere else. This latest news is further proof that the retail plan works and supports the revitalization efforts taking place in downtown Columbia and surrounding areas.”
Mayor Bob Coble is gratified that the city’s investment in the retail market study done by ERA/Downtown Works is already paying dividends. “This is a proven strategy and I congratulate Amy on this success.”
