Colorado-Based Production Company Little Spider Creations Announces Relocation to Horry County
April 22, 2015NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC – Little Spider Creations, a specialty prop and set production company from Denver, Colo., has announced plans to relocate its operations to the North Myrtle Beach area of Horry County. The company will create 35 new jobs over a 5-year period, paying an average of $20 per hour, and make an investment of $2.65 million dollars in the area.
The company specializes in the creation and installation of specialty props and sets for amusement parks, museums, haunted houses, restaurants, miniature golf courses and similar venues and attractions. Examples of its national clients include: Six Flags Entertainment Corp., Carowinds and Dollywood Theme Park.
“We decided to relocate Little Spider Creations to the Myrtle Beach area because the location offers us easy access to current and potential new customers, as well as the ability to tap into new creative talent,” said Marc Brawner, President & CEO of Little Spider Creations. “We are excited about this opportunity and the strategic growth that it will provide for our company.”
Little Spider Creations will utilize 24,000 square feet of an existing facility in North Myrtle Beach, and is currently hiring for several positions including painters, designers, muralists and sculptors. Those interested in applying for a position with Little Spider Creations are asked to submit a resume, along with photos of their work to [email protected].
The company’s decision to relocate is estimated to generate a $6 million dollar economic impact for Horry County, and is the result of the Myrtle Beach Regional Economic Development Corporation, Horry County Council and the North Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce support of this project.
As a part of the North Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce’s Building North Myrtle Beachinitiative to diversify the local economy and support economic development efforts, it has committed $25,000 to Little Spider Creations from its Job Creation Fund Grant, the first grant approved for this purpose since the grant’s recent authorization by the chamber’s board of directors, and another historic step by the chamber to strengthen the community’s economy.
“This is a great example of how by collaborating with our local partners, like the North Myrtle Beach Chamber, we are able to be competitive and win good projects like this one,” said Jim Moore, President & CEO of the Myrtle Beach Regional Economic Development Corporation. “People visit Horry County and they see how we work together to pool our resources, which will help their businesses grow and be successful. People choose Horry County because of the great business environment and sense of community they get when they come here.”
“We are pleased to have Little Spider relocate its operations to North Myrtle Beach and we look forward to assisting them in their growth over the coming years,” said Marc Jordan, President & CEO of the North Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce. “This is exactly the type of company we seek, which can be profitable within our community, creating wealth through sustainable jobs, for themselves as well as our community members. A big thank you to the leadership of MBREDC, especially to Sandy Davis as the lead developer on this project, as well as the entire MBREDC team.”
