CHARLESTON, SC – Charleston Southern University’s College of Adult and Professional Studies will begin offering new certificate programs in supply chain management and operations management in January 2015.

The Supply Chain Management certificate program will give professionals the skills and abilities to think in concert about the people, processes and technologies required for integrated supply chain management. The curriculum will include courses in Strategic Procurement, Transportation and Distribution, Product and Service Delivery, Supply Chain Information Technology as well as a Supply Chain Capstone course. These courses will provide excellent preparation for the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) Certified Supply Chain Professional exam.

The Operations Management certificate program helps students develop specialized expertise and leadership skills in the production of goods and services while providing the training needed to manage personnel and inventory efficiently. The operations curriculum includes courses in EHS Management, Product and Service Quality, Product and Service Delivery, Cost Management as well as an Operations Management Capstone course. These courses will provide excellent preparation for the APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management exam.

Both of the new certificate programs will be available exclusively online.

“Our certificate programs in supply chain management and operations management are a direct response to market demand,” said Gary Vance, dean of the College of Adult and Professional Studies. “Our market research and community partnerships have identified an increased demand for manufacturing and information services talent. CSU is preparing students with the knowledge, skills and core competencies required to meet today’s industry demand. Our goal is to be a talent pipeline that meets the current and future employee needs in the tri-county.”
