Background: Filmmaker Byron Hurt explores the health advantages and disadvantages of Soul Food, a quintessential American cuisine. Soul food will also be used as the lens to investigate the dark side of the food industry and the growing food justice movement that has been born in its wake.
Event starts with a tour of the MUSC Urban Farm at 5:00pm – participants should meet at the Farm on the corner of Bee & President streets inside the brick wall.
At 5:30 pm we will gather in the BSB Lobby (entrance facing Ashley Avenue) for a brief reception.
Screening begins at 6:00 pm in the Basic Science Building Auditorium (BSB 100), run time is approximately 1 hour with a panel discussion to follow.
