Perform a Death-Defying Act, Learn CPR

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC – January 16, 2012 – Heart disease is the number one killer in the United States. Each year, almost 330,000 Americans die from heart disease. If CPR is started within the first three minutes of cardiac arrest, the chances of survival rise dramatically.

On Saturday, January 19, Summerville Medical Center will be hosting a free CPR training class for the community. The class will be held at the Bethany United Methodist Church from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. The free class will be led by American Heart Association Instructors. The church is located at 118 W. 3rd Street South in Summerville.
