Carolina Film Alliance Plans Fundraiser

CHARLESTON, SC – April 10, 2011 – The Carolina Film Alliance (CFA) will hold a special fund-raising event on Sunday, April 10 from 5 –  8 p.m. at the Hippodrome IMAX Theatre, 360 Concord St. (next to the Aquarium downtown).  CFA is holding the event as a part of its continued efforts to support film production in South Carolina.

“This is a critical year for film production in SC,” said Richard Futch, CFA Board President.  “We are working steadily to encourage long-term film rebate legislation, stabilize the film industry, help maintain a strong crew base and attract more film projects to SC.  CFA is also working with other like-minded film organizations across the state, including the Upstate Film Community and the Beaufort Film Festival. ” he added.

The upcoming fund-raiser will include a live and silent auction offering several one-of-a-kind items and opportunities:

  • Golf for 4 at Kiawah Resort
  • Admission/Credentials for 4 for NASCAR Sprint Cup Race – Including a signed part of a NASCAR winning car
  • Wine tasting for 20 people at Total Wine & More
  • Lodging at the Mills House
  • Fine dining with “Army Wives” cast members including Kim Delaney and Catherine Bell at Cypress, Fish, Old Village Post House and other favorite Charleston area restaurants

Admission is $10 for CFA members, and $20 for non-members.  Light refreshments will be offered.

“We invite everyone to be a part of this important initiative that will generate a significant economic impact throughout our state by the SC film industry,” said Futch.
