June 8, 2021

The Board of Directors of the Building Industry Association of Central SC (BIA) announces that they have hired Allen Hutto as the new Chief Executive Officer of the association. The position became available when Earl E. McLeod, Jr., Executive Director of the association for 38 years, announced his plans to retire this year.

Mr. Hutto comes to the BIA from his job as Director of Governmental Affairs for the SC Department of Transportation. He grew up in Orangeburg, SC and attended Orangeburg Prep. From there he graduated from the College of Charleston with a BA in History and then earned a law degree from USC Law School and continued to earn a Master of Human Resources degree from USC’s Darla Moore School of Business. Mr. Hutto lives in Lexington with his wife, Alicia, and their daughter, Laura.

“I am thrilled to be joining the BIA family,” said Hutto. “The sense of community that I have felt between the BIA members that I’ve met so far is something that I have never seen from an association, and I am proud that my family and I are going to be a part of that.”

Mr. Hutto assumed duties on June 1, 2021. He will oversee the day to day operations of the association and work with the Board of Directors and members to further the mission of the association – To Promote and Protect the Construction and Housing Industry in Central South Carolina.
