Clinton Ice Cream Parlor Opens to Rave Reviews

Laila’s Place in Clinton opened on Friday, August 5 to a steady stream of customers for their first two days of business.

“We have been so blessed,” said Jason Devette. “This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes. Psalm 118:23”

Taking no chances on missing out, Addie Derrick (daughter of Kristin Derrick), was the first one to line up at the door on Friday and then the first person to be served.

Laila’s is serving Hershey’s ice cream and so far, the favorite flavors are banana pudding, butter pecan, cappuccino crunch, chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry.  The ice cream is served up in a cone, cup, shake or covered, topped, and smothered in a banana split. In the first two days of business Laila’s had to restock bananas to keep up with the demand for the banana split.

Laila’s has 48 flavors of ice cream and 5 more that are sugar free, Proof which is alcohol ice cream, and Italian ice (4 flavors).

The ice cream parlor is open Tuesday – Saturday 12:00-7:00 pm and maybe closing early on Wednesdays (that is to be determined).

Come in and sit a spell or get it to go. Once you try it, odds are you will be back!
