Laurens Police Department Welcomes Officer Tomlinson and K9 Cain

Earlier this week, Chief Grounsell, the Laurens Police Department and Laurens District 55 in congratulated Officer Huber Tomlinson and their newly acquired K9 “Cain” on the occasion of their successful completion of the four-week CCU National K9 certification.

Officer Tomlinson joins the Laurens Police Department with fifteen years of law enforcement experience. He has prior experience as a supervisor over Community Services. Tomlinson is a past JP Strom award recipient from the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy. He also has extensive experience in patrol, warrants, investigations, community services, bloodhound tracking and was a thirteen-year member of SWAT as a precision rifle operator/sniper.

Officer Tomlinson and k9 Cain are currently assigned to Sanders Middle School as an SRO/K9 team. K9 Cain, who was purchased through a campaign sponsored by Laurens District 55, is now a certified firearms detection K9 that will serve to protect our schools, our community, and other special events throughout the city of Laurens.
