Society of Industrial and Office Realtors® elects David Lockwood, SIOR as incoming President
May 23, 2023David Lockwood, SIOR, CRE, CCIM, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Colliers | South Carolina, was recently elected by the Board of Directors of the Society of Industrial and Office REALTORS® (SIOR) to serve a one-year term as President of the prestigious global commercial real estate organization. His term will officially commence at SIOR’s Fall 2023 conference in Chicago in October.
Lockwood attained his SIOR designation in 1990. He was elected as the current SIOR President-Elect in the Fall of 2022 and before that as Vice President in the Fall of 2021. He has also served as past President of the Carolinas SIOR Chapter and has been active within SIOR on a national level including serving two terms on the Board of Directors and chairing numerous committees related to governance, education and membership. Additionally, he served as a member of the SIOR Foundation Board of Trustees and served eight years as SIOR’s representative on the National Association of REALTORS® Executive Committee. In total, he has held more than 20 roles within the SIOR organization.
At Colliers, Lockwood’s primary areas of expertise include brokerage management, market analyses, lease negotiations and consultative brokerage. He has been with Colliers since 1986, starting as an office brokerage associate before progressing to managing the Columbia leasing division of Colliers | South Carolina and eventually being promoted to his current role as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer and serving as the Market President for the Columbia, SC market.

In addition to receiving his SIOR designation, Lockwood holds CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) and CRE (Counselor of Real Estate) designations. He is a member of the Clemson University Board of Visitors where he serves as Chair of the Student Engagement Committee. He recently completed nine years as a South Carolina Real Estate Commissioner representing the Second Congressional District and is a past Chair of the Columbia Chamber of Commerce.
He has received numerous recognitions from the commercial real estate industry including the South Carolina REALTORS® Association’s REALTOR® of the Year Award, the Central Carolina REALTORS® Association’s REALTOR® of the Year Award, the President’s Excellence Program Award and the Grassroots REALTORS® of the Year Award.
