The International Student Services Coordinator will provide support to the growing International student population on the USC Upstate campus through the Center for International Studies (CIS). Services provided will be on-campus and off-campus and may be outside of normal office hours including evenings, weekends, and academic holidays with the purpose of providing safe, meaningful experiences for International students which bolsters enrollment and retention efforts.
• Create International Experiences: Develop and coordination of on and off campus global events to provide social and cultural experiences that enhance familiarity with global cultures often in coordination with other offices on campus and community partners.
• Responsible for international student programming: Plan events calendar which includes programming during evenings, weekends, and academic holidays. Provide or arrange transportation to and from planned events. Be actively involved during planned events to insure a safe and meaningful student experience.
• Program Design and Development: In coordination with Manager, work with faculty/staff to market and promote all programs by representing the office at campus events (new student orientations, student organization meetings, etc.), program information sessions, tabling events, and in social media.
• Assist with international student services, which includes but is not limited to coordination student arrival, departures, orientation, and other appointments required of international students. Arrange arrival details in coordination with Office of Housing/Residential Life or local housing complexes.
• Data collection, management & reporting of international student feedback (incl. alumni management)
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree. Experience working or volunteering with international populations. Successful background check, valid driver’s license and good driving record and willingness to drive a 15-passenger van. Flexible schedule as nights and weekends are required.
Preferred Qualifications: Proficiency in a language other than English. Basic graphic design experience using social media platforms or Canva.
Salary: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour
