AAF of The Midlands Announced 2009 ADDY Call for Entries

COLUMBIA, SC – December 17, 2008  The American Advertising Federation (AAF) of The Midlands, formerly the Columbia Ad Club, is proud to announce the Call for Entries for the 2009 ADDYs. The mission of the ADDY competition is to recognize and reward creative excellence in the art of advertising. The awards are open to all advertising professionals and students.

The ADDY entries will be due Tuesday, January 6, 2009 and can be turned in between 3:00 and 7:00 p.m. at the USC College of Journalism and Mass Communications at the Carolina Coliseum.

This year’s ADDY award ceremony will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2008 at 300 Senate at the Canal (formerly The Sterling Garden Center) in downtown Columbia. Festivities begin at 6:30 pm. The ADDY competition in Columbia is the first of a three-tier national competition. Winners at the local level can proceed to the regional competition, and if successful there, can proceed to compete for a National ADDY Award.

The Columbia Ad Club was founded in 1955 and is affiliated with the American Advertising Federation (AAF), which is the oldest national advertising trade association, representing 50,000 professionals in the advertising industry worldwide.
