AAF of The Midlands Announces Call for Applications

Organization Seeks Nonprofit Client for 2009 Public Service Campaign

COLUMBIA, SC – December 4, 2008 – The American Advertising Federation (AAF) of The Midlands has announced they are accepting applications from nonprofit organizations to become the club’s public service client for 2009. Each year, AAF of the Midlands selects a nonprofit organization in our community and assists them with their marketing and advertising needs.

Currently AAF of The Midlands is working with the Township Auditorium to assist with branding, Web presence and marketing for the Township’s major renovation to begin in June 2009. In 2007, AAF of The Midlands worked with Sistercare, a local program of services for battered women and their children, helping the organization raise over $40,000.

To qualify, applicants must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Richland or Lexington County. The deadline to submit a proposal is January 19, 2009. For more information or to download an application, visit aafmidlands.com.

The Columbia Ad Club was founded in 1955 and is affiliated with the American Advertising Federation (AAF), which is the oldest national advertising trade association, representing 50,000 professionals in the advertising industry worldwide. By vote of the local organization’s Board of Directors, the affiliate’s name was changed in 2007 to AAF of The Midlands in order to enhance branding on a local, regional and national level. AAF of The Midlands is a member of the Third District of the AAF, which represents South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia.
