Annual Wine Festival to Benefit Community Foundation

COLUMBIA, SC – Central Carolina Community Foundation’s 15th Annual International Festival of Wines and Food is February 16, 2009, at Marriott Columbia and offers an impressive gathering of over 300 wines from around the world, gourmet food purveyors, and unique auction items.

The gala event begins at 7:00 p.m. and offers something for everyone. The Festival brings together dozens of wine distributors showcasing over 300 domestic and international wines. Guests can sample gourmet selections from 20 of the Midlands best restaurants and caterers.

The silent auction will offer over a hundred vintage and reserve wines and other items of interest. But you don’t have to wait until February to start bidding; this year we’ve added an online auction before the main event.

All proceeds assist the Community Foundation in awarding grants to nonprofit organizations in the Midlands.

Since its inception, the International Festival of Wines and Food has raised more than $500,000 for Central Carolina Community Foundation. Central Carolina Community Foundation’s mission is to promote, facilitate and increase philanthropy to create a sustainable impact on our community through responsible giving. The Community Foundation serves 11 counties in the Midlands by distributing grants and scholarships and linking the resources of donors, nonprofits and community leaders to areas of need.
