EXHIBITS
AirPlay at EdVenture Children’s Museum.  New exhibit explores how air moves and influences the environment. Woosh! – hands-on science experiments inside AirPLay Monday – Friday, 2pm, Saturday, 11am, 2 and 4pm, Sunday, 2 and 4pm.  Eddie’s Big Climb, a 15-foot inflatable climbing wall open Thursday, Friday and Saturday outside the museum. Visit the front desk for exact times. Weather permitting. $1 per climb. Bubbleloosa! Bubbles are on the loose again this summer in EdVenture’s outdoor exhibit, BubbleLoosa! Children can become a bubbleologist and explore the shapes, sizes and colors of bubbles. With our extreme bubble blower that cranks out 25,000 bubbles per minute, bubbles are sure to be floating all over this summer. NEW for Summer 08! Visitors can explore and create different bubble shapes, including a square! EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAMS
Little EdVenturers Open House – Saturday, August 2, 2008, 10 a.m. – noon
Enjoy preschool activities and learn about our new program for children ages 1-3.  See listing below.

Little EdVenturers – NEW! Little EdVenturers is a series of four 8-week programs that are completely hands on and developmentally appropriate for children ages 12 months to 3 years.  From art and science to literature and music, toddlers will experience the joy of learning through classrooms filled with opportunities to discover and grow. Fall session “Toddler Tunes” begins August 21 at 9:30 and 10:30 a.m.

Countdown to Kindergarten – Friday, August 8, 2008, 5-8 p.m.
School readiness initiative provides resources, tips, advice and hands-on activities for parents and children entering kindergarten this fall.  The entire museum will be open and family-friendly vendors will be available. Camp EdVenture – Weeks of August 4 and 11

HEALTH AND SAFETY
Eat Smart, Move More – At EdVenture Children’s Museum, this photo essay exhibit looks at the issue of obesity through the eyes of amateur photographers who have taken pictures around South Carolina.  This exhibit is a great family conversation starter for making healthier eating and better physical activity a part of your family’s lifestyle.  Through September 30.  Produced by Eat Smart, Move More South Carolina and sponsored by the Big ED Health Initiative.  Call 400-1133 or visit www.edventure.org.

Home Safe Home – Multimedia, 4-D interactive theater presentation at EdVenture Children’s Museum that teaches children about fire safety and reminds parents to check fire alarms and create an escape plan in case of emergency.  Monday – Saturday,10:30 a.m., 12:30, 2:30 and 4:30 p.m. Free with paid admission.
