Central Carolina Community Foundation accepting nominations for 7th Annual Best of Philanthropy Awards

Central Carolina Community Foundation, the Midlands’ expert on philanthropy, is seeking nominations for the 7th Annual Best of Philanthropy Awards. The Best of Philanthropy Awards honor ordinary people in the Midland’s community who make giving back a priority and in doing so, make a significant impact in our community.

“There are many unsung heroes making a difference in our community and we want to recognize them for their contributions.” says JoAnn Turnquist, President and CEO of Central Carolina Community Foundation. “We encourage members of the community to help us shine a spotlight on these everyday philanthropists by nominating their friends, co-workers, associates-anyone who is improving our community by helping others.”

Each Best of Philanthropy Award winner will be honored with a $1,000 donation made in their name to the nonprofit organization they choose in the Foundation’s 11-county service area. The winners will also be recognized at the Foundation’s annual celebration on November 10, 2016 and featured in the November issue of Columbia Metropolitan Magazine.

Nominations will be accepted online at http://www.yourfoundation.org/BestofPhilanthropy
through June 30, 2016. The nomination categories are:

• Individual or Family
• Local Business
• Student or Student Group
• Young Professional (Under 40)

Nominees must reside in one of the 11 counties the Community Foundation serves: Calhoun, Clarendon, Fairfield, Kershaw, Lee, Lexington, Newberry, Orangeburg, Richland, Saluda and Sumter. A panel of judges that includes community members, Central Carolina Community Foundation trustees and staff and, staff from Columbia Metropolitan Magazine will review the nominations and select the winners.
