Chernoff Newman welcomes industry veteran Dan Jividen as new Creative Lead

April 5, 2024

Chernoff Newman, a leading integrated marketing and communications agency in the Southeast, has named Dan Jividen as its new Group Creative Director. Jividen is an advertising industry veteran with previous assignments at advertising powerhouses Weber Shandwick, Energy BBDO and Leo Burnett.

“With a wealth of industry experience and a creative vision that aligns with the agency’s values and business goals, Dan is poised to lead our creative team to new heights,” said Carrie McCament, Chief Executive Officer of Chernoff Newman. “He will work across industry verticals and clients to connect the dots between his team and other communications disciplines and deliver leading-edge creative work products.”

Jividen got his start in advertising at Leo Burnett, working in a traditional capacity creating TV, print, video and digital ads for brands including Blackberry and Maytag. Following a role at EnergyBBDO, he moved to Weber Shandwick, where he joined his former creative director from Burnett who had gone there to grow its Chicago creative team. At Weber, he combined his traditional advertising experience with an “earned-first,” public relations-centric approach, helping craft ideas for brands such as Ocean Spray and Save the Children before settling in as the creative lead of the Mars portfolio.

It was an experience that taught him just how nimble and shifting creative could be. “The teams I worked with at Weber created things that garnered attention,” Jividen said. “That could look like a more-traditional campaign or something entirely different. Whether launching a fresh candy-bar flavor or bringing a new cat treat to market, we were always trying to get people to notice and engage.”

Jividen will bring all that experience to bear in his new role at Chernoff Newman. “My primary goal is to foster a culture of creativity, collaboration and innovation within the creative team. It’s a talented group, and I’m excited to help them do even more – to push boundaries and find even more impactful ways to connect with audiences.”

Jividen will concentrate on growing the creative team’s capacity. “They do great work, and I am here to help open up the pipeline for even bigger and bolder ideas,” he said. “As I learned more about Chernoff Newman, I was intrigued by its brand and the strong, long-standing client relationships…and the potential that both of those things hold.”

“Dan’s appointment represents a significant step forward for this agency,” McCament said. “His extensive experience and forward-thinking approach are sure to bring fresh perspectives to the team, further solidifying Chernoff Newman’s position as a leader in our field.”
