Cherrydale Point residents petition for annexation

Property owners at Cherrydale Point and the surrounding area have filed a petition for annexation into the City of Greenville. The annexation requires a public hearing and two readings before City Council. The annexation would include the City’s first Ingles, ALDI and Hobby Lobby.

If approved, most property owners will see a reduction in taxes, and all businesses will have reduced water rates. The newly annexed area would be served by City Police and Fire Departments. Property owners also will be eligible for other city benefits related to economic development, stormwater and traffic engineering.
