CHS Cross Country Team Gears Up for 8th Annual “Running of the Cans” Food Drive

June 24, 2024

The Clinton High School (CHS) Cross Country team is once again demonstrating their commitment to community service with the 8th Annual “Running of the Cans” event. This important initiative aims to restock the pantry at the Open Door Ministries, and community support is crucial to its success.

Scheduled for Thursday, June 27, the event will take place rain or shine starting at 6:30PM. In previous years, the dedicated team has braved scorching heat and pouring rain to ensure the success of this initiative, showing their unwavering commitment to the cause.

How You Can Help:

  • Donate to Team Members: Purchase canned goods and give them directly to members of the CHS Cross Country team.
  • Drop Off at CHS: Bring your canned goods to Clinton High School on Wednesday morning. Donations can be dropped off at the track building, where a red tent will be set up from 7:00 to 9:30 AM. Or Thursday afternoon from 6-6:30 PM in the student parking lot at CHS.
  • Direct Donations: Donations can also be taken directly to Geraldine’s Soup Kitchen at any time. Please mention that you are donating on behalf of the Cross Country team.

“Remember, Hunger Does Not Go on Vacation!” is the rallying cry for the drive, emphasizing the ongoing need for food donations even during the summer months.

The CHS Cross Country team and the Open Door Ministries appreciate your support and generosity. Your contributions will make a significant difference in the lives of those who rely on the pantry’s resources.
