City of Spartanburg’s Express Track Lane Wins Track Meet

SPARTANBURG, SC – June 29, 2011 –  The 3 rd  Annual City of Spartanburg Express Lane Invitational was held Saturday, June 11th.   This Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) sanctioned event was held at Spartanburg High School.  In addition to Express Lane, seven other teams competed – Greer All-Stars, New Hope TC, Greenville Pride, Dolphin Track, Spartanburg Elite TC, Golden Strip TC, and Runnin on Faith. 

Winning for the 2nd consecutive year, the City of Spartanburg Express Lane Track Club totaled 780 points competing in various track and field events to win the competition. 

Averaging approximately 70 kids per team, this is the 3rd year the City has sponsored Express Lane.  Coached by Shay Rice, Bernard Casey, Steve White, Christian Nash, RJ Reeder, Brian Gordon, and Maurice Stanton, the team travels through SC and NC competing in various track and field meets with the ultimate goal of competing in the AAU Junior Olympics at the end of the season.
