City Of Spartanburg Announces State Directed Electronics Ban In Waste Collection

SPARTANBURG, SC – June 27, 2011 –  Effective July 1, the City of Spartanburg will not be allowed to pick up electronics in our waste collection. 

It will be against the law to dispose of computers, computer monitors, televisions and printers as well as parts of any of these items at the landfill.  These items must be recycled.

The following recycling center locations are available for recycling electronics:

White Stone                           Chesnee

379 Brown Rd.                       390 Sulphur Springs Rd.

Spartanburg                             Chesnee

Hobbysville                            Wellford  (Hours:  7am – 4:30pm)

1493 Kilgore Bridge Rd.        591 Little Mountain Rd.

Woodruff                                Wellford

Some local businesses such as Best Buy and Office Depot may choose to recycle electronics.
