Colliers International announces South Carolina President and CEO, John Folsom, elected to the US Board of Advisors

Colliers International is pleased to announce that John W. Folsom, President and CEO of Colliers International South Carolina, Inc., has been elected to the Colliers International US Board of Advisors.
The Colliers Board of Advisors is an integral advisory function to the executive leadership on the Colliers International U.S. business and enables Colliers to better position the firm to execute on its overall strategic plans, objectives and goals.
Folsom was the 2014 recipient of the highest honor and most prestigious award that Colliers International Americas bestows, the Tom Richardson Award, as a testament to Folsom’s character and commitment to helping others. He is actively engaged in leadership roles in numerous community and statewide civic organizations in South Carolina, including serving as a member of the Executive Committee of the Midlands Business Leadership Group and a former board member and chair of Providence Hospital. He is a Founder and board member of “Salute from the Shore”, a patriotic initiative to honor America’s military. He previously served as chair of the South Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities and the South Carolina Independent Schools Association and as a trustee of Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. Folsom is a former member of the Boards of the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce, as well as Chairman of the Board of the United Way of the Midlands. He was also a member of Young Presidents Organization (YPO).
Folsom was the recipient of Washington and Lee University’s Distinguished Alumni Award and an Honorary Member of ODK. He was also recognized as the United Way’s 2013 Humanitarian of the Year. In 2008, an award in his name was created by the South Carolina Independent Schools Association to recognize volunteer leadership.
